Jah is of Maori heritage and is Indigenous to Aotearoa, New Zealand and is currently residing here in Naarm / Melbourne as a Public Art Curator.
Having curated six international mural festivals, councils involved in Urban Canvas were excited to collaborate on his seventh and bring Urban Canvas Mural Festival to life.
He is passionate about supporting Artists and the creative sector, especially after covid where many Melbourne based artists were impacted. Through leading and facilitating this program, over 150 local artists, muralists, graffiti writers and creatives were directly supported.
He also believes being Maori gives insight into the Indigenous worlds of First nation creatives and offers organic collaboration, curation and development of projects that are Indigenous inspired, shared, led and uplifting for the communities that these projects are curated in.
His mahi (work) is predominantly in Public Space with the aim of connecting ephemeral public art with communities through storytelling and true history.
He has a Master of Art in Public Space from RMIT and has worked with and for many local government councils and is the Creative Director of Street Prints.
